The workshop will explore the following question:

HOW CAN WE PROMOTE OPEN ACCESS AND PRESERVATION IN THE EUROPEAN RESEARCH AREA?

The purpose of the workshop is to offer a space for collective reflection with national experts on open access and preservation, develop a shared understanding of Europe’s needs in these areas, reinforce relevant connections and networks, and engage Member States to take action individually and collectively.

Results of this seminar will inspire the European Commission’s ongoing policy development on open access and preservation in the context of the Framework Programme for Research and Development, and of the European Research Area.
